WINNERSCAMP: AN EPIC LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE FOR TWEENS AND TEENS IN HAWAI’I

At WinnersCamp Hawaii Leadership Academy, we teach teens to make positive choices. and awaken them to their personal and community potential. Our retreat empowers teenagers to break through self-limiting beliefs and move towards greater success in their lives, and gives teenagers the tools for accelerated learning. We show teens and their families how to design a new future for themselves and to have a keauhou (new beginning) as they create their own destiny.

FOUNDING DIRECTOR AND FACILITATOR
Founding Director of Winners Camp and one of the Camp’s head facilitators. She has a rich history of working with teenagers and their families as President and Founder of Hawai’i Study Tours, which brought students from around the world to study in Hawai’i. In 1985 she directed a team of enthusiastic educators and created Winners’ Camp Foundation; it continues to be her driving focus.

Pam is a hit with all our teens and leaders when presenting lively interactive pieces on “Manners & Etiquette”. Also known as Hawaii’s Presentation Coach, since 1985, she has helped thousands of people become better communicators — whether they speak to one person, to small groups, or to large audiences.

SITE COORDINATOR AND FACILITATOR
Site Coordinator and Master Facilitator Scott Margenau first attended Winners’ Camp in 1998 and has been an invaluable and respected leader for the past 9 years! He attended Honolulu Community College, obtaining his Associates degree in Boat Maintenance/Repair and Small Vessel Fabrication. He currently works in a master woodworking shop building custom kitchens, bathrooms and high-end furniture.

Internationally acclaimed “Master Motivator” Bill Cordes began his career as a team leader for Winners’ Camp. He returns to the Islands as a Guest Facilitator to give back to our community and trains our trainers. He is the Director of Educational Development International, Instructor of Interpersonal Communication, BA/MS in Communication, co-author of Teen Power Too and Teen Empower. He teaches teens his signature YOGOWYPI: You Only Get Out What You Put In.

Motivational speaker and well-known basketball coach. Allan is the D.O.E. Coordinator for the No Hope in Dope Program, BA in Education, M.Ed. in Counseling and Guidance, Founding Director Positive Connections. Coach and Teacher in our Public School System Island Wide. Silva received a commendation from the Hawaii State Senate as an Outstanding Advocate for Children & Youth in Hawaii, and from Dr. Arun Gandhi – “We Are One Foundation” for his message of Aloha that he shares with youth and adults.

Paula Mantel is the Founding Director of Discover Learning Systems. She is uniquely qualified to teach with a history of highly satisfied students and clients from academic, government and business organizations. She has taught people to read faster with more comprehension, facilitated students to memorize dozens of new names in under twenty minutes using creative and innovative methods of problem solving techniques. At Hawaii Leadership Academy Ms. Mantel gives participants tools to achieve success with Student Adventures in Test Taking; SATT!

She is actively involved with the Boys and Girls Club Alliance Board and Easter Seals Hawaii. She is currently a Philanthropic Services Officer at the Hawaii Community Foundation and resides on Kauai.

Whether it be through his work at the YMCA of Honolulu, Big Brothers Big Sisters, or Winners’ Camp, he strives to support Hawai’i families. Graduate of University of Hawaii at Manoa and Honolulu Community College.

Rick Sing

FACILITATOR
Rick Sing speaks to campers regarding what they should know about their rights as teenagers. He is past president of the Hawaii Association of Criminal Lawyers and is currently vice-president. Mr. Sing is currently the Chairperson of the Hawaii State Bar Association Criminal Justice and Corrections Section and sits on the Disciplinary Board of the Hawaii Supreme Court.
